چکیده
Background: Concomitant mitral transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (M-TEER) and left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) showed to be a feasible approach optimize the treatment of patients eligible for both procedures, but mid-term outcomes are unclear. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed consecutive undergoing M-TEER enrolled in local prospective Getting Reduction Mitral Insufficiency by Percutaneous Clip Implantation (GRASP) registry. compared isolated (n = 58, 58.5%) with those concomitant LAAC 41, 41.5%) from January 2018 December 2022. The primary endpoint was composite all-cause death, stroke or systemic embolism, hospitalization heart failure, bleeding at 1 year. co-primary procedural success. Results: similar between M-TEER+LAAC (Kaplan Meier (KM) estimates 36.6% vs. 44.8%; plog-rank 0.75). Procedural success also (92.7% 94.8%; p 0.69). At 1- year, minor bleeds were lower (KM 0.0% 18.9%; < 0.01). Conclusion: In MR AF treatment, combined as safe an M-TEER-alone strategy associated

Stroke prevention is the primary goal in atrial fibrillation (AF) given its clinical and socioeconomic impact. With AF, the prevalence of thromboembolic stroke continues to rise and there is an urgent need to develop better strategies of stroke prevention. Warfarin, although effective when used appropriately, is burdened by underutilization, narrow therapeutic windows, and life-threatening blee...
متن کاملLeft Atrial Appendage and Closure
Patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation have a 4to 5-fold increase in strokes and that rhythm may be responsible for 15% to 20% of all strokes, particularly in the elderly. In this setting, thrombus in the left atrial appendage has been found to be the source of stroke in 90% of cases. Although oral anticoagulants have been found effective in reducing stroke rates, for a variety of issues...
متن کاملEndovascular Edge-to-Edge Mitral Valve Repair
Background—The edge-to-edge technique is an accepted method for the surgical repair of a regurgitant mitral valve. This study reports the initial use of an endovascular technology that enables a double-orifice edge-to-edge mitral valve repair without cardiopulmonary bypass in an animal model. Methods and Results—Adult pigs (n 14) were anesthetized, and left thoracotomy was performed for epicard...

Atrial fibrillation (AF) increases the risk for thromboembolic stroke five-fold. The left atrial appendage (LAA) has been shown to be the main source of thrombus formation in the majority of strokes associated with AF. Oral anticoagulation with warfarin and novel anticoagulants remains the standard of care; however, it has several limitations, including bleeding and poor compliance. Occlusion o...
